Global ACI has been established as a unified international authority, assuming all previous responsibilities and activities of two key organizations: the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).

This merger represents a major milestone in the global accreditation system. The establishment of Global ACI aims to create a more efficient, coherent, and robust framework for the worldwide recognition of conformity assessment results. As an umbrella organization, Global ACI oversees and coordinates the accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories, certification bodies, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers, reference material producers, as well as biobanks.

The Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG), as an associate member of Global ACI, welcomes the establishment of this organization with great interest and optimism. It is expected that the work of Global ACI will further facilitate international trade through the principle of “accredited once – accepted everywhere” , while also supporting innovation and sustainable development.
