Participation of the
Accreditation Body of Montenegro in the
EA Inspection Committee Meeting in Belgrade

Representatives of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG) participated in the EA Inspection Committee (EA IC) meeting, held on March 24, 2026, in Belgrade. The meeting, chaired by Marek Wilgos (PCA) and Jasmin Gundlach (DAkkS), was dominated by topics dedicated to the implementation of new standards and the enhancement of technical guidelines in the field of inspection.

A central part of the proceedings was a professional workshop focused on the changes introduced by the new ISO/IEC 17020:2026 standard, marking the beginning of the alignment process for accreditation bodies with the revised requirements. This educational process is set to continue through additional workshops in 2026, both in an online format in June and during the in-person meeting in September. Furthermore, a Task Force Group was established to draft a guidance document for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), which will serve as a key reference for national accreditation bodies.

Special significance was given to the meeting by the presence of a representative from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), who confirmed that the development of the sectoral scheme for the assessment of Assessment Bodies (AsBo) is expected to be completed by April 2026. To foster further synergy, a joint ERA workshop for members of both the IC and the Certification Committee (CC) was announced for May 2026.

Continuous participation in the work of this committee allows ATCG to monitor the latest trends in inspection and ensures the international recognition of Montenegrin accredited bodies.
