Representatives of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG) actively participated in the EA Certification Committee (EA CC) meeting, held on March 25 and 26, 2026, in Belgrade. The meeting, chaired by Casper van Erp (RvA) and Wolfram Hartmann (DAkkS), was dedicated to reviewing key changes in European regulations and standards that shape the future directions of certification.
The two-day session focused on strategic processes involving the revision of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/996 (RED III) on sustainability certification, as well as the implementation of the new EU framework for Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming (CRCF). Special attention was given to operational challenges in the application of ISO/IEC 17065:2012 and maintaining the impartiality of verifiers under ISO/IEC 17029, alongside an analysis of specificities within smaller economic sectors.
During the session, the Committee adopted significant decisions regarding the revision of the EA-6/03 M document for the accreditation of verification bodies for the purposes of the EU ETS Directive and defined guidelines for the use of ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17021-1 for certification to EN ISO 3834.
With the announcement of an EA "Train-the-Trainer" workshop for the revised ISO/IEC 17024 standard in early 2027, participation in this gathering confirmed ATCG's commitment to continuous alignment with European practices and the strengthening of professional competencies across all accreditation procedures.
